Behind The Brushstrokes: Zula & Indira
Step inside the creative process with Hannah Buckle, our print designer and the artist behind our Zula & Indira print. In this exclusive behind-the-scenes conversation, Hannah shares the journey from idea to print, and how she brought this story to life in six key silhouettes.

What inspired this print?
This print was inspired by shells as they are a strong part of the brand's DNA. Shell's create inspiration every season for their rich symbolism of femininity and their natural beauty. I have always loved the representation of the shells in Renaissance and Dutch still life paintings.
What was the decision- making process like for the colours and composition within the print?
This is another hand painted shell motif. We painted around fifteen shells until we landed on this one. We wanted a feminine clam shell shape that felt unique. This is hand painted with gauche and is created in an organic abstract style, inspired by Lino cut art and ink stamps.

Which is your favourite silhouette?
My favourite silhouette is the Zula Mini Skirt. It is perfect for the warmer season and can be paired back with other pieces in your wardrobe so easily - it is the perfect piece that you can dress up or dress down.
